THIS POSITION IS ON THE OXFORD COLLEGE CAMPUS, 36 MILES EAST OF ATLANTA.

One of Emory University’s nine academic divisions, Oxford College provides 950 first and second-year students with a liberal arts intensive program for the first two years of the Emory baccalaureate degree. Oxford College is Emory’s historic campus located 36 miles east of Atlanta.

Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean and Chief Business Officer for Oxford College of Emory University, the Director of Facilities Planning and Operations works closely and collaboratively with the Division of Campus Services at Emory University on the Atlanta Campus.

Responsibilities include:

  • providing technical leadership

  • advice and guidance on matters related to architectural and engineering design

  • construction delivery

  • contract administration

  • project budgeting

Works collaboratively with Emory Campus Services in the planning and implementation of new construction and remodeling/renovation projects which support continued and new operations at Oxford.

Oversees all space assignments to properly accommodate academic programs and general space needs for the college.

Responsible for the development, maintenance and implementation of the Emergency Management procedures related to College.

Works collaboratively with the Emory University partners to develop and implement the campus master plan to include setting recommended priorities for annual and five-year programs and transition strategies to implement campus, program, and enterprise plans.

Works to integrate system-level plans such as storm water management, campus LEED, and sustainability initiatives into implementation strategies.

Represents Oxford in all long-range facilities planning and implementation of all capital projects which includes new construction and remodeling and renovation projects which support continued and new operations at Oxford College.

Develops, prioritizes, and implements a major repair and renovation (MRR) plan for the campus working collaboratively with the Emory University's Campus Services Department Planning and Construction Department.

Develops, maintains, and implements Oxford College Emergency Management procedures in conjunction with Emory University.

Participates in updates to the College headed by Office of Critical Event Preparedness and Response (CEPAR) identifying vulnerabilities to physical infrastructure with regard to its potential to resist and recover from any potential threats.

Works jointly with the division of Finance and Administration in the maintenance of all policies and procedures around the procurement, disposal, and inventory of all Furniture and Equipment on all buildings on the campus.

Implements a long-term academic Space Management plan to properly accommodate designated academic programs, and general space needs on the College footprint, taking into account future growth or future campus needs of the College.

Manages the Oxford College space plan which oversees all space assignments for employees including relocation and renovations of offices, labs, and classrooms.

Oversees the strategic acquisition of real estate and manages the real estate footprint including rental properties.

Manages security and access for all buildings including key and swipe access controls for all buildings.

Monitors and works closely with the Facilities Manager assigned to the College in prioritizing all routine maintenance requests in line with the general maintenance plan for the College.

Monitors facilities emergencies and provides resolution, including equipment breakdowns, malfunctions, and alarm calls.

Monitors and works closely with the Custodial Manager assigned to the College in monitoring and ensuring the cleanliness of all facilities are of a high standard.

Works closely with Campus Services and Oxford College Finance team in the development and monitoring of the annual maintenance budget for the College ensuring efficiencies and cost savings where possible.

Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture or related field and five years of experience in management of construction projects and/or programs, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • A working knowledge of construction and federal, state and local building codes is preferred.

  • Must have previous experience that demonstrates the ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities; excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • A master's degree is preferred.

Min Annual Rate

USD $63,400/Yr.

Mid Annual Rate

USD $86,800/Yr.
