Emory Healthcare Pharmacy Inventory Tech, 7:30a-4p, PT in Atlanta, Georgia
This is part-time role.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Receives and distributes medications and pharmaceutical supplies. Maintains proficiency in automated systems and troubleshoots/resolves problems. Accurately processes and bills requisition orders submitted by hospital departments. Inventories and refills working stock as required; checks stock and prepares lists for appropriate amount of IV fluids to be ordered; restocks medications/IV fluids to sterile products area, automated medication storage/replenishing systems machines, and automated dispensing cabinet machines. Maintains an established inventory of drugs and commonly used supplies, i.e., syringes, needles; gloves, sets, filters, etc.; re-orders and stocks items upon delivery to ensure immediate availability. Can properly utilize the PMM system where applicable. Enters data into an electronic database; ensures accuracy and timeliness of required data entry. Receive drug and supply orders, scan drugs into Carousel and enter receiving data into wholesaler procurement software to reconcile ordered and received products Inform buyers and manager of any discrepancies and initiate credit for shorted items Monitor overstock meds and rotate stock Order pharmacy materials and supplies Fill drug orders requisitions for clinics & departments within the hospital Monitor inventory usage and make changes as needed Perform compliance inspections on nursing units Participate in purchasing related meetings and provide feedback to optimize workflow and processes Utilization of Omnicell and WorkflowRx software Prepare Coumadin Packets for patient education Order Office/Breakroom Supplies
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. Warehouse, storeroom or entry level pharmacy related experience. Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program preferred, but not required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs.; up to 50% of the work day; 0-20 lbs. up to 50% of the workday; Lifting 50 lbs. max; Carrying of objects up to 35 lbs.; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure. Bio-hazardous waste; Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, Communicable diseases, Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, Environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
