JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for the integrated communication and promotion of divisional programs and services. Collaborates with others to develop and implement programs and communications materials for targeted audiences which enhance awareness and utilization of divisional programs and services. Creates effective promotional materials including articles, brochures, forms and flyers. Designs, oversees and updates a website to educate and to promote activities and programs; coordinates website with other related websites. May manage a budget. May assist in evaluating, measuring and responding to issues related to the quality of services provided. May conduct evaluations, surveys and focus groups to assist in quality improvement efforts. Researches constituents' satisfaction with divisional programs and services. Develops reports and recommendations to sustain high quality. May supervise or provide direction to staff. Leads projects as assigned. Serves as an internal marketing consultant for programs and services. May be responsible for managing various aspects of social media activities. Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, art or other related field. Five years of experience in the development of marketing and informational materials, writing/research, project management and/or information technology. Additional related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Knowledge of publishing and other related software. This job requires professional level writing and editing skills, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and time management ability. Use of office and specialized computer applications is required. Ability to cultivate strong, positive relationships, work effectively in a collaborative team environment and superior speaking, writing and editing skills.

  • Experience with Customer Resource Management (CRM) or Email marketing platforms.

  • Experience with social media strategy, digital media and Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

  • Manage and coordinate the development of a user-centric designed web-portal for Compass coordinating centers

  • Develop 1-, 3-, and 5- year Strategic Planning document for PRISM Health and project-specific communications

  • Optimize operational processes for information dissemination and streamline internal communications (by implementation of continuous improvement model)

  • Create PRISM study-specific graphics and designs for advertising and recruitment purposes

  • Write articles and manage web pages

Project Descriptions:

The Emory COMPASS Initiative is designed to support organizational capacity building through grant making, training and technical assistance, and evaluation. Additional activities include the development and management of an online information portal as a tool to support capacity building activities and for community organizations to share best practices, new knowledge, tools and resources for use in the field and for public dissemination. The goal of the Emory COMPASS Initiative is to create sustainable organizational capacity among HIV/AIDS service organizations in the U.S. South that shrinks service deserts, improves access to high quality services, nurtures the development of organizations that are of the community and responsive to community needs.

AIDSVuis an interactive online map illustrating the prevalence of HIV in the United States. The national, state and local map views on AIDSVu allow users to visually explore the HIV epidemic alongside critical resources such as HIV testing center locations, HIV treatment center locations, and NIH-Funded HIV Prevention & Vaccine Trials Sites. The also lets users filter HIV prevalence data by race/ethnicity, sex and age, and see how HIV prevalence is related to various social determinants of health, such as educational attainment and poverty.
