JOB DESCRIPTION: * For use by Emory Temporary Services only * Responsible for performing routine and more complex medical assistant clinical duties to include, but not limited to, rooming patients, taking and recording vital signs, performing simple diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, sterilizing and cleaning equipment and maintaining examination rooms in an outpatient care setting. May also be responsible for some administrative duties. . All duties and patient interaction performed in accordance with Emory Healthcare patient and family centered care standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED required. Three years direct clinical experience as a Medical Assistant required. Emory Healthcare clinical experience preferred. Ability to demonstrate leadership and teamwork qualities. Basic computer skills preferred. Licensure/Certification: Current certification as a CMA from American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) required.   • Must be comfortable working with stigmatized populations, and in a high paced dynamic research environment at Grady campus.

  • Must be comfortable and able to assist clinician with anoscopy procedures and study activities for study visits. This includes setting up anoscopy room and procedure trays, phlebotomy, administering pregnancy tests, taking vitals, having patient change into gown to prepare for visit, handing supplies to clinician as needed, keeping track of biopsies obtained, CRF completion, getting room turned around for next patient (disinfecting table, equipment, etc) and able to assess and response to patient needs.

  • Phlebotomy hands-on experience, a plus.

  • Must be willing to complete in a reasonable time frame all the required training requirements for Grady credentialing to function as an EU hired MA working at GMH location.

  • Must be comfortable and able to assist clinician with anoscopy procedures and study activities for study visits.   • Assist with the coordination of the data collection processes and in the abstraction data from the participant's medical record, scheduling of appointments, and obtains consent forms as needed.

  • Applicant is expected to maintain the required record-keeping needs for a Clinical Trial and performs related approved non-clinical responsibilities as required and directly related to study role.
